Learn more about the Progymnasmata and the Classical Writing Method Course Description:Offered for Academic Year 2010-2011 ~ Classical Writing's Diogenes: Chreia covers the Chreia level of the Progymnasmata, teaching advancing essay analysis and culminating in the modern expository essay. This is a twenty week course, beginning mid-September and ending mid-March. This course is appropriate for students 8th grade and up who have completed Diogenes: Maxim. If you have any questions about your student's readiness for this course, please email the tutor. Meeting Time:Class meeting time is Tuesdays from 3:00-3:50, EST. Materials Needed:*Harvey's Student Workbook II (optional, but recommended) *Harvey's Answer Key II (optional, but recommended) Harvey's Elementary Grammar (order from Bookstore) **Diogenes:Chreia Student Guide for Co-Ops **Answer Key to Diogenes:Chreia Student Guide for Co-Ops *Classical Writing materials will be offered to class participants at our 20% co-op discount. Orders will be placed around July 15, 2010. Registered students will receive details via email when it is time to order. **These two books will be available this summer in beta format to students enrolled in the tutorial class. Literature Assignments:Optional but highly recommended literature assignments will also be scheduled for the students. All of the literature assignments are available either online or at your local library.
