Required Materials
*TYou will be given information via email when these books are available to place your order for Classical Writing materials at the discounted price. You are also free to add any other Classical Writing books you need for your homeschool or classroom to this order at the discounted price.
Literature Assignments:
Several literature assignments are required for this course, and there are also several optional but highly recommended literature assignments. All of the literature assignments are available either online or should be at your local library. Paperback Swap often has these titles, so be sure to check there - it is a great service! For those who prefer to purchase the books for their home library, you may order from the Classical Writing Literature Selections page for Plutarch.
Required:
Plutarch's Lives - Volumes I & II ~ We will be reading selections from these books each week. Both are available online for free, but as the selections are rather long, I do recommend that students have a hard copy of the book.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ~ I highly recommend that students read this over the summer, as it will need to be completed by Week 3 of the Plutarch course.
Optional:
Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
Silas Marner by George Eliot
Cicero: Selected Letters
Cost of Tutorial:
See Fees and Registration page for details.
